Russian dumplings

Pelmeni is a favorite dish of Russian cuisine for many people. They are traditionally made with ground meat or fish filling and served with sour cream. These days any grocery store sells frozen pelmeni, but it's much more interesting and fun to go for a hand cooked option! Kristina Sheremetyeva, a young mom, culinary enthusiast  and flight attendant, told us how to make pelmeni in the most simple and delicious way. Make a note of it. Invite your friends over and assemble some pelmeni together.

Ingredients:

450 gr flour
½ tsp. salt
1 egg
210 gr water
ground meat
onion
salt and pepper

Directions:

Combine flour, salt, egg and water. The dough will turn out tender and nice to touch. The ground meat filling can be 50/50 turkey/pork & beef. Add chopped and fried onion, salt and pepper. Before actually assembling pelmeni, put a little cube of butter on top of the filling. Assemble them and boil in slightly salted water for about 8-10 minutes.
