Herbal Tea for energy

This is a recipe for healing energy boosting herbal tea from the photographer and culinary expert Kristina Podrezova. This drink will make a good alternative to your morning coffee, as well as a perfect option for warming yourself on one of those rainy or cold days. On her hike around Norway Kristina has been making this tea on campfires. It will come out just as good when home-brewed in a tea pot on a stove! We just don’t recommend to make it late at night, not to risk staying up all night.

Due to special qualities of the tea ingredients, it is truly beneficial for your health. It’s a well-known fact, that ginger and echinacea boost our immune system, which comes especially important in colder days of the year. Mint and turmeric also positively affect our digestive system. As for thyme and its’ antibacterial qualities, it’s great to use when going down with a cold.

Ingredients:

1 tsp dry mint leaves
1 tsp echinacea petals
¼ tsp dry thyme
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp dry ginger
1-2 tbsp of honey
1-2 liter of water

Preparations:

Add all ingredients to a pot, start heating. Bring water to boil, let the brew sit for 5-7 minutes. Tea is ready to serve!
