Chocolate smoothie with green buckwheat

Elena Tyan, Deliscake founder, food photographer and dessert expert, shared with us her recipe of a surprising smoothie. A lot of people have definitely tried the chocolate smoothie with banana and nut milk, but in Lena's recipe the main ingredient is raw buckwheat. Raw buckwheat is a treasure trove of protein, vitamins and micro elements! It's easy to digest, boosts immune system, excretes cholesterol and toxins, strengthens the vessels and purifies the liver. So this smoothie will be a great and healthy breakfast or a quick snack for when you need an energy boost and a good recharge.

1 banana
120 ml pine nut milk
2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
½ tsp. vanilla extract
¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
2-3 tbsp. honey, maple syrup or any liquid sweetener to your taste
dash of salt


1. Soak buckwheat over night or at least for two hours. Strain the water and rinse the grain well.

2. Put buckwheat, banana, nut milk, cocoa, vanilla extract, cinnamon honey or maple syrup and salt in the blender and blend to uniformity.

3. Pour the smoothie into a cup or a glass and garnish to your taste.
